AMS 6000/7000 Advanced CIE Type A goniophotometer for edge-to-edge front & rear lights

Custom goniometer design – Mastering greater challenges with precision
The AMS 6000 and AMS 7000 systems are the latest additions to the AMS series, expertly engineered for measuring innovative, very wide "edge-to-edge" front and rear lights. Built on the reliable CIE Type A design, these systems offer exceptional positioning accuracy, making them ideal not only for measuring wide lights but also for highly critical front lighting applications such as ADB and HD headlights, where precision requirements are continually increasing.
With a clear width of 1000 mm (AMS 6000) or 1450 mm (AMS 7000), these systems can accommodate samples up to 1900 mm or 2800 mm wide. The Y-axis travel range extends to ±400 mm (AMS 6000) and ±700 mm (AMS 7000), enabling precise positioning of lights that are 800 mm or even 1400 mm apart. This design allows for the convenient measurement and alignment of nearly all common new lights in their mounting position, directly to the optical axis.
The AMS systems are also designed to handle the nominal sample weight of up to 50 kg without any compromises. With this innovative yet proven approach, Instrument Systems continues to set the standard for precise light measurement technology in automotive exterior lighting.
The high-performance goniophotometer delivers accurate, reliable measurements across all photometric, spectroradiometric, and colorimetric parameters. When paired with the DSP 200 photometer, it can measure pulse-width modulated light sources even with very short duty cycles. The readings are displayed in photometric test reports via the LightCon software, which can also integrate with simulation and ray-tracing programs for further analysis.
To enhance the system's versatility, the AMS 5000 can be upgraded with extensive accessories, including the CAS series of spectroradiometers, creating a fully synchronized system capable of handling a wide range of measurement tasks within the AMS Goniometer system.

Product approval tests and development-related measurements
In automotive exterior applications, precision, adherence to standards, and efficiency are essential. The AMS series is mainly used for type testing and homologation of vehicle headlights and signal lamps, ensuring compliance with current standards like ECE, SAE, and FMVSS108.
With a wide range of accessories and the advanced LightCon software, the AMS series is also perfectly suited for development-related measurements in the light channel, providing greater flexibility for both testing and research.
AMS 6000/7000 – Technical data
The AMS 6000/7000 have a horizontal sample stage for securing and connecting the sample. The control unit is located in a separate 19” instrument cabinet. The machine can be safeguarded by laser scanner, light barrier or pressure-sensitive safety mats.
